Blog 2: Adjusted Profile Picture
Before Picture
The picture I have selected is from my LinkedIn profile picture from Sophomore Year.
This is one of my favorite pictures that I have of myself. It is professional, and is sharp in how it is displayed. On the other hand, my suit makes the picture a bit dull. I had decided it was time to make the picture more bright, and make it come alive. What I decided due within the adjusted photo was change the color of my collared shirt to a brighter shade of grey, along with changing my tie to turquoise.
I used my knowledge that I have gained in Photoshop, to help me with creating my adjusted profile picture. Along with my knowledge from Dr. Heagney, I went further into the readings from Weeks 3 and 4. From both these readings from Adobe Help, I expanded my understanding more into fine tune an image with adjustment layers and and how formally "create and edit layers", in order for me to correctly execute my adjusted photo (Adobe Help, 2018).
In this screenshot, you can see that used the object selection tool to help me in selecting the parts in the photo that I wanted to adjust. I then moved towards the layers section, and worked with different colors and balanced their levels to my own liking. I played around with the brightness for both my tie and button down, and adjusted it to where I felt was best fit. Adobe help was a contributing factor in me successfully adjusting my profile picture.
What I've learned
I have learned an abundance of information from this assignment. From us in class working with color and adjustment layers within photos, I thought I knew how to operate it all. I didn't. I learned that when I comes to adjusting a photo, there is more that goes into it than just one trial. There are multiple trials and attempts that go into the "right" photo. Sometimes you have to just break down the photo, remove yourself from the work, and realize what you need to work with. I have taken more time with editing and adjusting my photos now, and I know that it will take my work to the next level.
The Most Important Things to Know
The most important things to know is that it takes time, and you have to be persistent with working with photoshop or Indesign. What I mean by it takes time is that, the final result is not going be produced the first time working with it. Being patient is key, and constantly working on it in your free time is going to get your photo to where you want it to be. Thats an important concept to understand. That what I was able to take away from this assignment, and working with this picture.
Final Picture
I am extremely ecstatic with my final picture. I was able to take everything away from class and the week 3 & 4 readings from Adobe Help, to aid me in creating the best photo. You can see in this final image that I adjusted the color in my tie and my collared shirt. Enjoy.
